Overview: scope, risk, and the device in the hand

A serious project overview names the test devices that are treated as “true,” the regions where a network profile cannot be faked in an office, and the updates that are explicitly not planned for the first public season. Those lines are not pessimism; they are map contours. A mobile overview should also name thermal expectations: if a beautiful effect raises device temperature in three minutes, you are not planning a public transport game, you are planning a private desk experience, a mismatch that will show up in reviews as “lag,” a word that is sometimes heat. Playtests belong in the overview as a schedule item with a method: who is observed, which tasks are unguided, and how notes are turned into issues without blame language that silences engineers. The goal is a living document that a new lead can read in a single sitting and understand what the project believes about its players, a belief that should be editable when evidence changes, a change that is strength, not shame.
